2018 Primitivo Riserva

Primitivo, the signature varietal from our Cerro Santo estate vineyard, is bold and fruity when young, but our reserve wine, aged for 20 months in both French and American oak, is softened and mellowed, while retaining the substantive character of this already outstanding vintage. Double-barrel aging has produced aromas of vanilla, toasted coconut, and cinnamon in addition to the wine’s flavors of dark cherry, coffee, and chocolate. Our Riserva is a truly special wine, perfect for sipping on its own, or as a complement to a special meal.
 
Our 2018 Primitivo Riserva won Gold and was named Top of Class at the San Antonio Rodeo Wine Competition in 2020.
