2018 Merlot

The Merlot vines planted in our Cerro Santo estate vineyard are grown on their own roots, and therefore true to their French origins. Few New World vineyards can grow ungrafted French varietals successfully, but our Merlot vines thrive in the dry, gravelly soil of our Texas High Plains vineyard. The full-bodied red they produce exhibits flavors of blackberries and dark chocolate with aromas of vanilla and cream, a result of the double-barreling process in which the wine is exposed to both French and American oak. Our smooth Merlot is a perfect complement to pasta and meat sauce, roasted veggies, and garlic and herb cheeses.
